Or, a lion rampant Sable, between two otter’s heads erased in chief Proper and a cinquefoil in base of the second, all within a double tressure flory counterflory of the Last.
The Crest:
An armed dexter hand holding a cap of dignity Purpure facing Ermine.
The Motto:

Andrew Buchanan of Ardenconnel in the Parish of Dumbarton was the second son of Archibald Buchanan of Silverbank who was a grandson of Andrew Buchanan of Gartachairn.
The family of Gartachairn are descended from Walter Buchanan of Glenny and are cadets of Leny.
The arms are recorded in Lyon Register Volume 1, Page 558, 27 September 1791.
